Karaca Ambalaj's social compliance policy. Prohibition of forced labor, child labor, anti-discrimination, and employee rights.

Introduction

At Karaca Ambalaj, our social compliance policy includes standards created collaboratively with all our business partners, based on our core principles and values, conducted as teamwork.

This policy has been prepared to share with all our employees, all our stakeholders, and all our business partners, as an explicit commitment that Karaca will fulfill all its responsibilities.

To ensure that the Social Compliance Policy becomes part of the company culture within the organization.

Communication and Transparency

The social compliance policy is announced to all our employees through communication channels (intranet, email groups, etc.), and suppliers are informed through our official website.

Within the scope of this policy, no sanctions or punitive actions are applied against employees who voice their concerns, anxieties, and complaints.

Employees can openly express all kinds of opinions, requests, complaints, and suggestions, and these are evaluated by Senior Management.

1. Forced Labor (Voluntary Employment)

Our organization does not impose forced labor on any employee. Employment principles in our company are based on voluntariness.

  • In case an employee leaves the job, the company does not prevent or postpone this except for security reasons
  • All information of our employees is protected and kept confidential to the extent specified by law

2. Child Labor (Minor Employees)

Child labor is not acceptable in any form in our organization.

The minimum age determined by national and international laws is taken into account, except for mandatory cases such as interns.


3. Discrimination (Egalitarian Approach)

Our organization values all its employees and their contributions. It has a deep-rooted commitment to standing against discrimination and ensuring equal opportunity.

Areas where no discrimination is made:

  • Nationality, social origin
  • Religion, age, disability
  • Political opinion
  • Any value protected by applicable laws

Employee selection is based on minimum qualifications such as open position, education, interests, talent, work experience, and inventory results.


4. Ethical Business Conduct

Our organization does not tolerate the following in any way:

  • Embezzlement

It has published its policy on ethics violation reporting on its official website and has provided employees/customers with the opportunity to report ethics violations.


5. Working Hours and Wages

Our organization pays its employees wages appropriate to the sectoral and local labor market.

  • Full compliance with applicable laws on wages, working hours, overtime, and fringe benefits
  • Full compliance with employment contracts
  • Providing employees with opportunities to develop their skills and capacities

6. Health and Safety

Our organization ensures the creation and maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace environment.

  • Creating a work environment where employees can work safely, healthily, and efficiently

All occupational health and safety rules regulated by legal legislation are applied.


7. Stakeholder Engagement

Our organization commits to building relationships with its stakeholders on a good faith basis.

It treats all its stakeholders fairly and equidistantly.


8. Employment of Foreign National Workers

For foreign national employees employed/to be employed in accordance with the law:

  • All personnel procedures from hiring to separation are conducted in accordance with current legal regulations
  • The legal rights of foreign national employees regarding employment are protected

9. Rest Days and Holidays

Our employees use their rest and holiday days within the framework of their legal rights. Working days vary according to the nature of the work.


10. Recruitment and Employment

Recruitment and placement activities are conducted by the Group Human Resources and Training Directorate.

Employment principles:

  • Open positions determined within the budget in line with annual business plans and targets
  • Employment in compliance with laws
  • Egalitarian approach
  • Leave, wage, holiday rights
  • Employment contract

11. Employment Contract

An employment contract appropriate to the workplace and laws is prepared between our organization and the person to be employed:

  • Indefinite Term Employment Contract or
  • Fixed Term Employment Contract depending on conditions

A copy of the employment contract is given to the employee upon signature. All rules and practices required by our organization and the job are conveyed to the relevant employee through orientation training.


12. Discipline

The rules specified in the Disciplinary Regulations are applied by our organization to ensure disciplined work.

All our employees conduct their work in accordance with working rules instructions.


13. Environmental Protection

We manage the environmental impacts that may arise from all our activities with a sense of responsibility.

Our environmental commitments:

  • Work to eliminate or reduce environmental impacts
  • Most efficient use of natural resources
  • Identifying and implementing all improvement and development work
