Supply Chain Ethics Principles and Rules
Ethical principles and rules Karaca Ambalaj expects from its suppliers. Human rights, environment, workplace safety, and integrity standards.
Overview
We expect our suppliers to act in accordance with the following principles, based on respect for human rights.
1. Supplier Principles
1.1. Compliance with Laws, Regulations, and Legislation
Our suppliers must act in compliance with local, national, and international laws, regulations, and legislation in all processes of the goods and services they provide, including commercial, logistics, production, financial affairs, and human resources.
1.2. Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining Rights
Our suppliers must:
- Respect employees’ union rights, such as joining or not joining a union and forming unions
- Act in compliance with all valid local and national laws regarding freedom of association and collective bargaining rights
1.3. Prevention of Forced Labor and Abuse
Our suppliers must prohibit all forms of forced labor, including:
- Bonded labor
- Military labor
- Slavery
- Human trafficking
They must act in compliance with local, national, and international laws, regulations, and legislation regarding forced labor and employee abuse.
1.4. No Child Labor
Our suppliers must act in compliance with all local, national, and international laws, regulations, and legislation regarding the prohibition of child labor.
1.5. Anti-Discrimination
Our suppliers must firmly prevent discrimination, verbal, or physical harassment in all workplaces.
Scope of discrimination prevention:
- Recruitment
- Placement
- Employment
- Training
- Compensation management
- Promotions
Processes based on talent, performance, and experience criteria should be established.
1.6. Employee Safety and Health
Our suppliers must provide all their employees with a safe and healthy working environment.
Requirements:
- Physical precautions and practices
- Worker training
- Workplace safety audits
- Internalization of workplace safety and worker health practices
1.7. Working Hours and Wages
Our suppliers must:
- Act in full compliance with laws, regulations, and legislation regarding wages, working hours, overtime, and fringe benefits
- Provide employees with a working environment and training that allows them to develop their knowledge, skills, and capacities
1.8. Integrity
Our suppliers must not engage in any behavior that would undermine mutual trust in their business relationships:

1.9. Environment
Our suppliers must show maximum care for environmental protection in all decisions they make. They must act in compliance with all local, national, and international laws, regulations, and legislation regarding the environment.
1.10. Management Systems
Our suppliers must establish management systems in the following areas:
- 🏭 Occupational Health and Safety — Safe, secure, and healthy workplace
- ✅ Quality — Continuous improvement
- 🍽️ Food Safety — Compliance with standards
- 🌍 Environment — Protection of natural resources, sustainable development
1.11. Compliance
Our suppliers must be able to demonstrate compliance with the Supplier Principles when requested by Karaca Ambalaj.
2. Supplier Rules
We expect full compliance with Supplier Rules from our suppliers. In addition to Supplier Rules, which contain general terms applicable to all suppliers, supplier contracts may contain more specific provisions.
2.1. Security
Our suppliers must treat information belonging to Karaca Ambalaj obtained through the business relationship as a valuable asset and keep/protect it securely.
Security rules:
- This information belongs to Karaca Ambalaj
- It cannot be shared with other private or legal entities without Karaca Ambalaj’s permission
- They are obligated to act in accordance with current laws and regulations and Karaca Ambalaj procedures regarding workplace security and employee health in Karaca Ambalaj’s workplace and working areas
2.2. Bribery
Our suppliers:
- Must not offer gifts, monetary benefits, or invitations to government officials or other representatives of public institutions that could cast a shadow on their impartiality or violate current laws
- Cannot send valuable items directly or indirectly to any government official, other representatives of public institutions, or political parties to gain any unfair benefit or advantage using Karaca Ambalaj’s name
2.3. Gifts and Meals
The prohibition on accepting or giving benefits covers not only monetary benefits but also all benefits, rights, and assistance that could cast a shadow on the impartiality of company employees.
It is prohibited for our suppliers to offer more than ordinary business meals and small, modest gifts given during holidays and New Year’s.
2.4. Conflicts of Interest
All our employees act in line with Karaca Ambalaj’s interests.
Conflict of interest rules:
- They avoid any behavior that could be understood as providing benefits to themselves or their relatives
- Employees must be able to distinguish their personal and private interests from company interests
- There should be no financial or other relationship between our employees and suppliers that could conflict with the obligation to act in Karaca Ambalaj’s interest
Notification obligation: If there is a kinship, financial, or other relationship between Karaca Ambalaj employee(s) and supplier employee(s), the supplier must notify Karaca Ambalaj.
